About the Opportunity

The Young Diplomats Society (YDS) is seeking enthusiastic and creative Design Volunteers to support the production of our 2026 Year in Review, Beacons of Hope.

​

Our Year in Review brings together perspectives, reflections, and insights on international affairs and global developments. Through Beacons of Hope, we aim to highlight stories and ideas that inspire dialogue and reflection.

 

As a Design Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the visual presentation of our annual publication, work alongside our Marketing and Publications teams, and gain practical experience in digital publication design.

 

Whether you have previous design experience or are simply interested in developing your creative skills, we welcome your application.
 

Key responsibilities

• Design and format articles for the 2026 Year in Review using Canva.

• Develop visually engaging layouts that align with YDS branding and publication guidelines.

• Collaborate with the Marketing and Publications teams throughout the design process.

• Incorporate feedback and revisions to maintain consistency and quality.

• Complete assigned design tasks within agreed timelines.

General Requirements

• An interest in publication and digital design.

• A willingness to learn and use Canva.

• Good organisational and time management skills.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

• Effective organisational and time management skills.

• An ability to work independently and respond to feedback.

No prior design experience is required. Guidance and support will be provided throughout the project.​

Time Commitment

This is a short-term volunteer opportunity supporting the production of the 2026 Year in Review.

​

Design tasks will be assigned based on volunteer availability and project requirements. Volunteers should generally be able to complete assigned tasks within approximately five days, with flexibility discussed where necessary.
