Evangelia Wichmann
Senior Regional Correspondent

Evangelia Wichmann recently completed a dual master’s degree, earning a Master in International Development from Sciences Po Paris and an MSc in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics. She is currently undertaking an intensive Mandarin programme in Taipei as a Huayu Scholarship recipient.
Her research interests centre on climate change, migration, and the role of aid and remittances in shaping resilience and development outcomes in vulnerable communities. For her dissertation, she examined how competing regional donors influence Pacific aid dynamics and the foreign policy alignment of recipient states.
Evangelia is particularly interested in regional diplomacy and the ways economic flows affect security and adaptation in the Asia-Pacific. She ultimately hopes to contribute to policy solutions on climate change and resilient diplomacy, with a strong emphasis on gender equality.
