Thien is a Bachelor of Global Studies student specialising in International Relations, where her studies have led her to both Malaysia and Italy to investigate local responses to global affairs. In Thien's spare time, she volunteers for Possible Dreams International and has previously volunteered as a tutor for refugee and migrant children. Thien is a cocktail bartender with a drive for all things creativity. She is most passionate in investigating policy pathways across Southeast Asia, as well as spotlighting matters of human security and refugee rights.
