Cláudia Miranda-Veloso
Marketing Officer

Cláudia is currently undertaking Honours for her Bachelor of International Relations at the ANU,
having completed a Bachelor of Arts with a major in Criminology, and minors in French and
Spanish. With interests in critical studies, peace and conflict, ‘everyday’ IR, and state-society
relations, her thesis focuses on alternatives to post-conflict state-building in the context of Syria.
Beyond learning languages and Honours research, her commitment to learning has also taken
her on a semester exchange to the University of Edinburgh.
She also has experience volunteering with a local women’s shelter in Laos – helping human
trafficking survivors create community and build confidence. Having lived in Australia, Laos, and
Jordan, Cláudia has developed a key passion for cross-cultural communication and platforming
voices that often go unheard in mainstream IR discourses. As Marketing Officer, Cláudia hopes
to leverage her creativity and experience to promote platforms that elevate diverse voices and
emerging perspectives in International Relations.
